Andrew Wang

Design Engineer

Andrew brings a strong academic background with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington and a master’s in structural engineering from Stanford University. “As early as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the built environment, from towering cranes erecting skyscrapers to the simplicity of stacked timber cabins. That curiosity led me to pursue civil engineering, but it was my first intro course in structural design that truly drew me in. I was captivated by the balance between the complexity of calculations and the elegant simplicity behind how buildings safely stand. From that moment, I knew structural engineering was the path I wanted to follow.” Andrew is especially interested in sustainable design and innovative construction materials, with a particular focus on mass timber. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys staying active through sports—especially volleyball. He also enjoys gaming, cooking, woodworking, and exploring the outdoors.

“What inspires me most about structural engineering is the tangible impact of our work. We get to see the structures we design come to life and serve the people who use them. It’s motivating to know that we play a critical role in shaping safe, lasting environments that people rely on every day.”
