PCS Structural Solutions celebrates creative designs achieved through partnerships with architects on fantastic projects.  Featured below are a few of our most recent awards. Click on an image to see full size.

In 2021, the Northwest Kidney Centers Rainier Beach Clinic received an AIA Committee On The Environment (COTE) Top Ten Award, a national award recognizing sustainable design excellence. Each year, ten innovative projects are recognized for their integration of design excellence with environmental performance.

Biophilic design strategies woven throughout the clinic create an immersive and restorative environment that encourages patients to comply with their treatment and be at ease when dialyzing. Keeping nature at the core of the design also resulted in a reduced environmental footprint.

In 2018, the Washington State University Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center received numerous awards for its innovative design and excellence in design-build delivery by the GGLO / Absher project team, including the following:

  • DBIA Educational Facilities National Merit Award
  • DBIA Chairman’s Award for Community Impact and Social Responsibility
  • DBIA Excellence in Design Award – Architecture
  • ACEC Washington Engineering Excellence Award – Silver Award: Complexity
  • AGCW Build Washington Award for Public Buildings $5–20 Million

In 2018, the Harborview Medical Center Bi-Plane Operating Room Renovation received numerous awards for its excellence in design-build delivery by the Ankrom Moisan / Aldrich+Associates project team, including the following:

  • DBIA Healthcare Facilities National Merit Award
  • DBIA Best in Small Projects Award – Finalist

In 2017, the University of Washington Police Department received a Justice Facilities Review Award from the AIA Academy of Architecture for Justice.

The jury’s comments noted the project is “an elegant, highly visible law enforcement building that is well scaled to the community. The massing strategy is very successful at breaking down the building scale and expressing the building program elements.”

In 2019-2020, the Whidbey Island Farmhouse received two awards recognizing its design excellence:

  • AIA Pacific Northwest Region Design Awards – Honor Award
  • Residential Design Magazine Residential Design Architecture Award – Honor Award, Rural or Vacation House Category

In 2017-2018, the Tacoma Public Schools Science and Math Institute Environmental Learning Center received numerous awards including the following:

  • AIA Southwest Washington Citation Award
  • Washington Aggregates and Concrete Association Excellence in Concrete Awards: Grand Award
  • AIA Pacific Northwest Region Pinnacle Award Project of Distinction
  • AIA Washington Council Honor Award
