Matt joined PCS after earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Washington State University. Originally from Washington, Matt has also lived in the Netherlands, which deeply affected his view of the built environment. It was there that he discovered how his work in civil engineering could impact his surroundings. “I love how there is no set solution to a given problem. An engineer could solve a problem one way, and another could do something completely different. Also, I love how you get to see your work physically built and used! There is a lot of pride in seeing the drawings come to life.”
Matt gained firsthand structural experience through internships including at PCS. Matt enjoys traveling, cooking, baking, hiking, and exploring the city in his free time.
“As an engineer, I have the unique duty to ensure that the health, safety, and welfare of the public is kept as the number one priority in all my work. I’m inspired by the fact that my work has a direct impact on the lives of all individuals who interact with it.”
