Malachi Blair

Design Engineer

Malachi interned at PCS and returned after earning his master’s degree in civil engineering from Washington State University. Malachi was drawn to structural engineering through a fascination with large buildings and the way structural systems support ambitious architectural ideas. He had always enjoyed and excelled in math, and his experience working in construction while growing up gave him an appreciation for how designs are translated from drawings into real, functioning structures. Structural engineering was a natural combination of those interests.

“What I enjoy most about structural engineering is the process of developing practical and creative solutions to complex problems. It is rewarding to contribute to a project from the early design stages and eventually see it take physical form. I also enjoy the collaborative nature of the profession and working with architects, contractors, engineers, and clients to develop structures that are safe, efficient, and responsive to the project’s goals. Outside of work, Malachi enjoys an active lifestyle through fitness, hiking, sports and outdoor activities.

“The opportunity to keep learning, build strong professional relationships, and contribute to infrastructure that positively affects the communities it serves inspires me each day.”
