This 40,000 square-foot, $19 million adaptive re-use project updated the historic Tacoma Paper & Stationery Building—previously a biscuit and candy factory, and former home to Tacoma’s Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant—to house science classrooms, a makerspace, and other collaboration and event space. Iconic details include full-height storefront walls that open the ground floor to the Prairie Line Trail promenade, and interior details and furniture made out of salvaged flooring from the original building.
