Salish Middle School

The new 106,000 SF Salish Middle School is organized by North Thurston School District’s proven “house” model: 6th-grade students are semi-separated on the lower wing of the school to ease the transition from elementary school, while 7th and 8th-grade students study and collaborate on the upper floor. A two-story common area with exposed glu-lam beams and structural elements allows all students and staff to intermingle, with long sight lines allowing for efficient supervision. The 15,000 SF masonry gym for student and community use rounds out this comprehensive middle school.
