The City of Kirkland took a distinctive approach by purchasing an existing 100,000 square-foot commercial warehouse building then adaptively reusing the facility to house their police, corrections, and municipal court services and staff. The standard concrete tilt-up construction was upgraded to meet essential facility requirements. The building houses jail cells, a firing range, courts, public meetings spaces, and police functions for the growing city.
