Central Washington University Nicholson Pavilion

PCS completed structural design for the program study, condition assessment, and significant renovation of CWU's iconic Nicholson Pavilion. Originally built in 1959, the project added 67,000 SF to the two-story, 100,000 SF building, creating space for academic offices, classrooms, and seating for the performance gym. Upgrades were completed at the north and south gymnasium clerestory windows and at connections of the exterior concrete wall to the foundation at select locations. Nicholson Pavilion was also connected to adjacent Dorothy Purser Hall, creating a unified facade. The expansion allows Nicholson to host a variety of academic programs, including health and physical education, sport and athletic administration graduate programs, recreation, and dance.
