Bret Maddox

Associate Principal

The son of parents who were both involved in the public school system, Bret initially considered careers in both medicine and architecture  He eventually found his passion in structural engineering through the Architectural Engineering program at the University of Wyoming. After completing his degree in 1992, Bret moved to Tacoma, Washington, and began work with a rising local firm — PCS Structural Solutions

Bret has served as Project Manager and Principal-in-Charge for many of the firm’s educational, small commercial and residential projects. He has a broad base of experience with many building systems and has specialized in the renovation of existing buildings, including structural design, construction administration, and seismic evaluations along with value analysis and constructability studies. 

Serving on Tacoma’s Landmarks Preservation Commission and volunteering on other local boards and committees has provided Bret a way to give back to his adopted home. His personal time is filled with woodworking, golf, hiking, softball, and spending time with friends and family. An avid soccer fan, he can be found cheering on the hometown Sounders FC or the Manchester United Red Devils nearly year round.
