Rainier Work Lofts and Self Storage

2010

The Rainier Work Lofts delivers a new 170,000 SF ten-story office/work loft and storage facility with two levels of parking, adjacent to the old Rainier Brewery site in Seattle.  The North end of the structure cantilevers out over a 100 year old 10-foot diameter storm line.  This complex framing system gained enough square footage for the project to pencil and move forward.  The seismic resisting system includes core walls coupled together with the Innovative TruncatedX coupling beams, developed by PCS, which allowed thinner walls thus allowing just enough room for the parking clearances to work on this tight site.
