Mt. Tahoma High School Stadium

2004

The 3,500 seat Mt. Tahoma Stadium started with a trace paper sketch from the project Architect. The proposed design that PCS responded back with, is nearly identical to the stadium, as it stands today.  A series of cantilevered steel pipe columns serve as the primary lateral and vertical support system, while precast concrete seating, masonry infill around program space (concessions and locker rooms), and an exposed structural steel roof, achieve the design intent of a light feeling roof system that celebrates the views to Mount (Tahoma) Rainier.  This project utilized the PCS trademarked Integrated Steel DesignTM Process - the entire steel package on the stadium was pre-detailed prior to public bid.
