Bainbridge High School Building 200

2007

The Bainbridge Island High School 200 building offers its students 70,000 SF of open design, visually connected spaces, and expressed steel and concrete structure.  The building flows westward starting with admin and classroom space that lead to a central library, before arriving at the commons, which provides space for lunch time activities as well as assemblies.  The second floor cantilevers outward to the north to provide covering over the outdoor walk way that runs adjacent to the building.  The roof features curved steel beams and monitors that provide ample day lighting.  The Commons features concrete terraced seating and an exposed concrete beam supported by steel pipe columns.
